Short answer: moving from 1C or Excel to Odoo usually takes 4 stages: analysis, data cleanup and migration, testing with a parallel run, then full cutover. For a small or mid-sized business this takes from a few weeks to a few months. Deep Vision has already done such projects in Tajikistan.
Why are Tajik businesses leaving Excel and 1C?
Excel works while one person owns the data. With 3–5 branches, a warehouse and a sales team, files multiply and numbers stop matching. 1C is often used only for accounting, while sales, CRM, inventory and manufacturing live elsewhere.
Odoo is an ERP system that keeps sales, inventory, finance, CRM, purchasing and manufacturing in one database. Data is entered once and every department sees it.
Since 2024 Tajikistan's VAT is 14% on non-cash and 15% on cash operations. Tracking that by hand in Excel invites errors; an ERP calculates it automatically.
What are the stages of the move?
- Analysis (1–2 weeks). We study current processes, reports and the data in 1C or Excel.
- Data cleanup and migration. Customers, products, stock, chart of accounts and open balances are imported into Odoo. Duplicates and stale records are removed.
- Testing and parallel run. For a while the old system and Odoo run side by side and the numbers are reconciled.
- Cutover and training. Staff are trained in their language and the old system is archived.
What happens to 1C accounting and reports?
