Short answer: Odoo CRM is the customer and sales management app inside Odoo ERP. It turns enquiries from your website, email, Telegram and phone calls into leads automatically, assigns them to salespeople, moves deals through a kanban pipeline and reminds everyone of the next step on each deal. Quotations are created from the deal in one click, and because sales, inventory and accounting share the same database, management sees the whole chain from lead to payment in real time.

Many businesses in Uzbekistan still keep customer contacts in Excel, in Telegram chats or in one employee's head, and customers get lost. Callbacks are forgotten, Telegram questions go unanswered, and when a salesperson leaves, the client list leaves too.

The Odoo CRM module is built for exactly these problems. We won't repeat CRM theory here; it is covered in What is a CRM system? and What is a sales funnel and how to build one. Here we focus on the module itself and how to set it up for a company in Uzbekistan.

What is Odoo CRM and how is it different from a standalone CRM?

Odoo CRM is the Odoo ERP app for managing leads, deals, customer communication and the sales forecast; it shares one database with Sales, Inventory, Accounting and the other Odoo apps.

In a standalone CRM such as amoCRM or Bitrix24, the pipeline ends when the deal is won, and someone then re-enters the data in the accounting system or in 1C. In Odoo the chain continues:

  1. Lead: an enquiry from the website, email, Telegram or a call.
  2. Opportunity: a qualified deal moving through the pipeline.
  3. Quotation: created directly from the opportunity.
  4. Contract and order: the confirmed quotation becomes a sales order and stock is reserved.
  5. Closed deal: an invoice is issued and the balance clears when payment arrives.

Every app shares one contact record, so opening a customer shows their opportunities, quotations, orders, invoices and balance in one place. Both the free Community and the paid Enterprise editions include the CRM app.

What is the difference between a lead and an opportunity in Odoo?

A lead is a raw, unqualified enquiry; an opportunity is a deal with a confirmed need, budget and timeline that moves through the pipeline.

The Leads step is optional. Small teams often switch it off, so every enquiry lands in the pipeline as an opportunity. When ads bring dozens of enquiries a day, it pays to switch it on: an operator qualifies leads first, and only promising ones reach experienced salespeople. On conversion, Odoo links the lead to an existing customer or creates a contact, and duplicates with the same phone or email can be merged.

How do enquiries get into Odoo CRM?

You don't type leads in by hand: enquiries from website forms, email, live chat, Telegram and phone calls become lead records automatically. The main channels:

  • Website form. The "Contact us" form on an Odoo Website site creates a CRM lead directly; a form on another platform connects through the API.
  • Email. Each sales team gets an alias such as sales@company.uz. Messages sent there become leads, and later correspondence is logged on the record.
  • Live chat. When a visitor writes in the Odoo website chat, the operator creates a lead with one command and the transcript stays on it.
  • Telegram. In Uzbekistan most customers write on Telegram. Odoo has no standard Telegram connector, so the integration is built with a bot or an add-on module: the customer's message appears as a lead and the salesperson replies from the record.
  • Phone calls. Odoo Enterprise has a VoIP app for SIP providers, but many sales teams call from ordinary mobiles. Deep Vision's dooCall app records their incoming and outgoing calls on Android phones and sends each recording to the customer record in Odoo, no IP telephony needed. More on building a sales call center with an ordinary phone.
  • Import. Your existing customer list and open deals load from Excel or CSV.

Every lead carries a source, medium and campaign (UTM tags), so reports show which ads and channels actually produce sales.

How does the sales pipeline work in Odoo?

The Odoo CRM pipeline is a kanban board: each column is a stage and each card is a deal; the salesperson drags the card forward and the system recalculates expected revenue and probability.

Stages are configurable per sales team. An example for a Tashkent wholesale distributor:

  1. New enquiry
  2. Need confirmed
  3. Quotation sent
  4. Awaiting contract and payment
  5. Won

Each opportunity holds expected revenue and an expected closing date (which drive the forecast), a probability, a priority of zero to three stars, tags such as product or region, the salesperson and team, and optional recurring revenue for subscriptions.

Deals close as Won or Lost; a lost deal needs a reason such as "price too high" or "chose a competitor". You define the reasons, they feed the reports, and lost deals can be restored.

Deals can also be viewed as a list, calendar, graph or pivot table. For choosing stages and calculating conversion, see What is a sales funnel and how to build one.

How do lead scoring and lead assignment work?

Predictive lead scoring in Odoo calculates each new lead's chance of being won from your company's history of closed deals.

Odoo uses a naive Bayes model. Stage and sales team always count; you can add country and state, phone and email quality, source, language and tags. The probability updates as the deal moves through the pipeline. If a salesperson overrides it manually, automatic updates stop for that deal until switched back on.

One caveat: scoring needs history. In the first months after go-live, rely on stages and activities rather than the percentages.

Lead assignment runs on rules:

  • each team and salesperson gets a rule (a domain), for example leads from Samarkand and Bukhara go to the regional team and leads above 20% probability go to senior reps;
  • each salesperson has a monthly lead capacity, so nobody is overloaded;
  • assignment runs manually with a button or automatically on a schedule.

A new lead reaches the right person within minutes.

Activities: how does a salesperson never forget the next step?

An activity is a specific next action on a deal (a call, meeting, email, to-do or document upload) with a due date and an owner.

Odoo's default activity types are Email, Call, Meeting, To-Do and Upload Document, and you can add your own, such as "Send sample" or "Site visit". Each type can carry a default deadline and a follow-up (after a Call, "Discuss quotation" two days later), so tasks and reminders are assigned automatically.

Activity plans schedule a whole sequence at once. For a new B2B customer: day 1 call, day 2 quotation, day 5 follow-up call, day 10 meeting, launched with one click.

On the kanban board, a clock icon shows green for planned, orange for due today and red for overdue, so a manager spots backlogs at a glance. Emails, notes, calls and files stay in the record's chatter, giving a full history per customer that a new salesperson can pick up in minutes.

How do you create a quotation from Odoo CRM?

A quotation is created with the "New Quotation" button on the opportunity: customer, prices and products are filled in automatically, and once confirmed the quotation becomes a sales order. This requires the Sales app. The flow:

  1. The salesperson opens the opportunity and clicks "New Quotation".
  2. The customer's pricelist (say, wholesale prices in sum or in US dollars) applies automatically.
  3. Products come from the catalogue; discounts follow pricelist rules or the salesperson's permissions.
  4. A quotation template sets payment terms, validity and optional products.
  5. The quotation goes out by email as a PDF or as a portal link the customer can accept online.
  6. The confirmed quotation becomes a sales order: Inventory reserves the goods and creates the delivery.
  7. Accounting issues the invoice. With Deep Vision's ready-made Didox module, the e-invoice is sent straight from Odoo without re-typing.

Accepting online payments through Payme or Click is planned as a separate integration. More: Odoo Sales and Purchase and E-invoicing in Uzbekistan: Didox, Soliq and ERP integration.

What reports does Odoo CRM provide?

Odoo CRM reports are not assembled by hand: pipeline, forecast, activity and lost-reason figures are calculated in real time from salespeople's daily work. The main reports:

  • Pipeline analysis: deals and expected revenue by stage, salesperson, team, source and period.
  • Forecast: deals grouped by expected closing month, showing expected revenue for the coming months.
  • Activity analysis: calls, meetings and tasks completed per person, and how many are overdue.
  • Won and lost deals: lost reasons and the stages where deals most often die.
  • Lead analysis: leads received, who got them, which were left unattended, and results by UTM source.
  • Sales team dashboard: each team's monthly target and progress.

Any report can be filtered, grouped and exported to Excel, and gamification (goals and challenges) helps motivate the team. For which metrics to track, see Sales department KPIs and sales reports.

How should you set up Odoo CRM for a company in Uzbekistan?

Setting up Odoo CRM starts with writing down your sales process; the technical work is fitting stages, channels, access rights and reports to it. A practical order:

  1. Map the process. Where enquiries come from, who answers, which stages a deal passes through and when it counts as won.
  2. Define teams and access rights. For example "Tashkent", "Regions", "Corporate"; salespeople see their own deals, managers see all.
  3. Configure stages and required fields. For B2B customers, make the taxpayer ID (STIR/INN), company name and contact person mandatory.
  4. Connect the channels. Website form, email aliases, Telegram and calls. Store phone numbers in +998 format, or duplicates multiply.
  5. Clean, then import the database. Merge duplicates and remove stale records in Excel first.
  6. Create activity types and plans. Make it a rule that every open deal has a next step.
  7. Connect CRM to Sales, Inventory and Accounting. Pricelists in sum and dollars, products with MXIK (IKPU) codes, invoice templates. If accounting stays in 1C for now, plan the data exchange up front.
  8. Choose the language. Russian is fully translated; Uzbek is available but may be incomplete, so check key screens in advance.
  9. Train the team. For the first two weeks, review the pipeline together daily and fix awkward spots straight away.

Check your edition, too. The CRM app, pipeline, activities, lead scoring and rule-based assignment work in Community; VoIP, WhatsApp, Studio (no-code customization) and map and cohort views are Enterprise features. Details change between versions: Odoo Community vs Enterprise.

How does Deep Vision implement Odoo CRM?

Deep Vision is an official Odoo Gold Partner in Tashkent; we set up Odoo CRM together with sales, inventory and accounting in one system and connect the channels Uzbek businesses actually use. Our team has 7 certified Odoo specialists, and 26 of our client projects are listed in the Odoo partner catalogue (partner page).

On an Odoo CRM project we typically:

  • analyse your sales process and design the pipeline, teams and access rights;
  • connect the website form, email, Telegram and calls, with our own dooCall product for salespeople on mobile phones;
  • clean and migrate customer data from Excel, 1C or another CRM;
  • connect CRM to Sales, Inventory and Accounting, with ready-made Didox e-invoicing and Asl Belgisi marking modules;
  • train your team and support you after go-live.

With a clear process, the CRM pipeline alone usually takes a few weeks; with the standard Sales and Inventory apps, often 6–8 weeks; broader ERP projects take 2–6 months. Our clients include Optika.uz, Timsoll and RockBeton; more in our portfolio. Service details: Odoo implementation.

Frequently asked questions

Is Odoo CRM free?

The CRM app is part of the free, open-source Community edition, but installation, hosting and configuration still cost money. Enterprise is a paid per-user subscription that adds VoIP, WhatsApp, Studio and more. Check current prices on odoo.com.

Can Odoo CRM be connected to Telegram?

Yes, though not through a standard connector. A Telegram bot or add-on module brings customer messages into Odoo as leads and saves the conversation on the record.

Our salespeople call from ordinary mobiles. Will the calls reach Odoo?

Yes, with dooCall. It records incoming and outgoing calls on Android phones and sends the recordings to the customer record in Odoo. No IP telephony or special hardware is needed.

Does Odoo CRM work in Uzbek?

Uzbek is in Odoo's language list, but the standard translation may not cover every screen; Russian is complete. Each user picks their own interface language, and a partner can complete translations of key screens and documents.

Can we start with CRM only and expand to ERP later?

Yes, it is a common path. CRM and Sales go live first, then Inventory, Purchase and Accounting are added. Everything shares one database, so new apps use your existing customers without re-entry.

Can we move to Odoo CRM from amoCRM or Bitrix24?

Yes. Contacts, companies and open deals are exported, cleaned and imported. Usually key notes and files are migrated and the old system is kept as an archive.

How does Odoo CRM increase sales?

A CRM does not raise sales by itself; it reduces losses. No enquiry goes unanswered, every deal has a next step, and management sees at which stage and why customers drop out. Sales grow when you fix the process using that data.

Conclusion

Odoo CRM moves your customer base out of salespeople's phones and into a company system, from the first enquiry to the paid invoice. No customer gets lost, salespeople know exactly what to do next, and management sees the real performance of every salesperson and team.
